The Huawei Nova Y70 Plus is an entry-level smartphone released in South Africa in August 2021. It features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a waterdrop notch housing the front camera. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card.

The rear camera setup consists of three sensors: a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.The rear cameras are accompanied by a single LED flash. On the front, the device has an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

For security, the Nova Y70 Plus includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports facial recognition. It supports dual SIM cards with 4G LTE connectivity on both slots. Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The phone is powered by a 6000mAh battery and runs on EMUI 12 based on Android 11,without Google Mobile Services (GMS) pre-installed.
