The HiSense U50 succeeds the U40 series from the previous year. It features a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels. The screen includes a U-shaped notch at the top, which houses the front-facing camera.
Under the hood, the U50 is equipped with a Spreadtrum SC7731E processor, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. The graphics are handled by an ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU. The device includes 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 64 GB via a microSD card.
The rear camera setup consists of a single 5-megapixel sensor paired with a VGA depth sensor and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera that supports AI-based face recognition and face beautification features. The phone does not have a fingerprint sensor and relies solely on faceid for biometric authentication. Network connectivity is limited to 2G and 3G bands, consistent with the capabilities of the Spreadtrum SC7731E chipset. The device is powered by a 4100 mAh battery.
