The Apple iPhone 15 succeeds the iPhone 14, released in September 2022, with several notable updates. The display now includes the Dynamic Island feature, previously exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models.the screen brightness has increased substantially, reaching a peak of 2000 nits compared to the 1200 nits on the iPhone 14.
The device runs on iOS 17 out of the box, an upgrade from the iOS 16 found on the iPhone 14. The processor has also been updated to the A16 Bionic chip, manufactured using a 4nm process. This replaces the A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone 14, which was built on a 5nm process.
In terms of camera hardware, the iPhone 15 retains a dual rear camera setup. However, the primary sensor has been upgraded to a 48-megapixel camera with an f/1.6 aperture, replacing the 12-megapixel sensor on the previous model. This change aims to improve image resolution and low-light performance.
The iPhone 15 transitions from Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector to a USB type-C 2.0 port, which supports DisplayPort functionality. this marks a shift towards a more universal charging and data transfer standard.
Additional specifications include a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, 6GB of RAM, and storage options ranging from 128GB to 512GB. The device is powered by a battery with an estimated capacity of around 3,200mAh and supports MagSafe wireless charging.Sensors include Face ID, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
