The Nokia 8.3 5G is HMD Global’s first smartphone to support 5G connectivity and the first Nokia device equipped wiht a 64-megapixel primary camera. It succeeds the Nokia 8.1, released in December 2018. The phone features a 6.81-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The screen includes a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. The device measures 171.9 x 78.6 x 9 mm and weighs approximately 220 grams.
Under the hood, the Nokia 8.3 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, built on a 7nm process. This octa-core processor runs at up to 2.4 GHz and is paired with the Adreno 620 GPU. The phone is available with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and offers internal storage options of 64 GB or 128 GB. Storage can be expanded via a dedicated microSDXC card slot.
The rear camera setup consists of four sensors: a 64 MP main sensor with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and an f/1.9 aperture, a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2 MP macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera is a 24 MP sensor with Zeiss optics.
For security, the device includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports AI-based Face Unlock. It accommodates either a single nano-SIM or dual Nano-SIMs with 4G and 5G network compatibility. The Nokia 8.3 5G is equipped with a 4500 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. It runs on Android 10 with the Android One program, ensuring a near-stock Android experience.
