The OnePlus 8 5G UW is a variant of the standard OnePlus 8, customized for Verizon’s network. Unlike the global OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro models, which use the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem supporting sub-6 GHz 5G bands, this verizon-specific model includes additional mmWave 5G support. This enables the device to access low, mid, and high-band 5G frequencies, combining sub-6 GHz and mmWave connectivity in a single unit.
Physically, the OnePlus 8 5G UW retains the same design as the standard OnePlus 8, with the exception of a Verizon-branded 5G logo on the rear panel. The device is available in two color options: Onyx Black and a Verizon-exclusive Polar Silver.
The OnePlus 8 5G UW is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor paired with the Adreno 650 GPU.It comes with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and offers storage options of 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.0. The phone features a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The battery capacity is 4300mAh, supporting Warp Charge 30T fast charging via USB-C.

The front camera is a 16MP sony IMX471 sensor. The device runs OxygenOS based on Android 10 at launch and includes sensors such as an in-display fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass.
