The Oppo Reno5 5G succeeds the Oppo Reno4 5G, featuring several hardware and software updates. It runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1. The device retains a 6.43-inch display but switches from AMOLED to an OLED panel, offering a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an 80Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 750 nits. The front camera notch design changes from a pill shape to a smaller dot notch.
Powering the Reno5 5G is the qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, an octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.4 GHz, paired with the Adreno 620 GPU. Memory options include 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage or 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage. Neither variant supports expandable storage via microSD.
the rear camera setup consists of four sensors: a 64-megapixel main camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and an f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera uses a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies.
For security, the phone includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and AI-based facial recognition. It supports dual Nano-SIM cards with 4G and 5G connectivity on both slots. The device is powered by a 4300mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging through a USB-C port. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also present,reinstated from the previous model.
