The Samsung Galaxy A12 succeeds the Galaxy A11, which was released in August 2020. The device features a redesigned exterior and updated internal components. Notably, the Galaxy A12 uses a MediaTek Helio P35 processor instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip found in its predecessor. The display measures 6.5 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It employs a PLS LCD panel and includes a dewdrop notch at the top center.
The helio P35 is an octa-core processor built on a 12nm process, with cores clocked up to 2.35 GHz. Graphics are handled by the PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Memory configurations vary between 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB of RAM, while internal storage options include 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot.
The rear camera setup consists of four sensors: a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. An LED flash is positioned alongside the cameras. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel sensor located within the notch.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and support for either single or dual SIM cards. the device is available in black, white, blue, and red colour options. Power is supplied by a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. The Galaxy A12 ships with Android 10 as its operating system.
