The Tecno Pop 5 succeeds the Tecno Pop 4 and features a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display wiht a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels. The screen includes a dewdrop notch that houses the front-facing camera.
Under the hood, the device is equipped with a Spreadtrum SC7731E processor, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz, paired with an ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU. It comes with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 64 GB via a microSD card.
The camera setup consists of a single 5-megapixel rear sensor accompanied by an LED flash.The front camera is also 5 megapixels and supports AI-based face recognition and beautification features.
For biometric security, the Tecno Pop 5 includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports FaceID. Network connectivity is limited to 2G and 3G bands, with no 4G or 5G support. The device is powered by a 4000 mAh battery and runs on Android 10 (Go Edition) out of the box.
Additional sensors and features include basic accelerometer and proximity sensors. The device targets entry-level users requiring essential smartphone functions with modest hardware specifications.
