The Xiaomi Redmi 8 succeeds the Redmi 7 and features a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD display wiht a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels.The screen includes a waterdrop notch that houses the front camera.The device’s dimensions and screen-to-body ratio support basic multimedia and daily use.
Powering the Redmi 8 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.0 GHz, paired with the adreno 505 GPU. The phone is offered in two configurations: 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. Both variants support microSD expansion up to 1TB via a dedicated slot.
The camera setup on the Redmi 8 includes a dual rear system with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, accompanied by an LED flash. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor located within the notch. For security, the device has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports facial recognition, along with standard Android lock screen options such as PIN and pattern.
The Redmi 8 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging through a USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with xiaomi’s MIUI skin on top. The phone supports dual SIM functionality with 4G LTE connectivity on both SIM cards. Additional sensors include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
