Teh ZTE Blade A72 succeeds the Blade A71 from the previous year. It features a larger display and an increased battery capacity compared to its predecessor. The device runs on Android 11 and is powered by the UNISOC SC9863A processor.

The rear camera setup consists of three sensors: a 13-megapixel primary camera,a 2-megapixel macro lens,and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A single LED flash is positioned alongside the rear cameras. The front-facing camera has a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
